The simple rules for using GPSFleetmatic products and services. Last updated: 2 November 2026.
Thank you for choosing GPSFleetmatic. These terms explain what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. By buying a product, using our installation service or logging in to our tracking platform, you agree to them. If anything is unclear, just message us and we will happily explain.
Acceptance of terms
By calling, messaging or booking GPSFleetmatic to install a device, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions. This also applies when you buy a product or log in to our tracking platform.

Payment is due before or at installation unless we agree otherwise in writing. Please only pay into accounts we confirm to you directly, and keep your receipt.
Free demo
We are happy to offer a free demo of our tracking platform to businesses with 10 or more objects (vehicles or assets) to track. For smaller setups, we are glad to walk you through the platform and answer your questions on WhatsApp.
4. Installation
Our technicians install devices at an agreed time and place. Installation usually takes about an hour per vehicle, depending on the device and vehicle. Please make sure the vehicle is available, in reasonable working condition and that you or someone you authorise is present. We fit devices neatly and carefully. If we find an existing electrical fault, we will let you know before we continue. Please don't let anyone else remove or move the device, as that can stop it working and affect your warranty.
5. Subscription, renewal and suspension
Your tracker includes one year of service from the date of installation. After that, tracking continues with a yearly renewal (from ₦25,000 per vehicle). We will send you a friendly reminder before your renewal date. If renewal is not paid, we may pause tracking on the platform after a short grace period. Your device stays in your vehicle, and service resumes as soon as the renewal is paid. If an account stays unpaid for a long time, older history may no longer be available.
6. SIM cards and data
Each tracker uses a mobile SIM card to send its location. Unless we agree otherwise, we provide and manage the SIM and its data as part of your subscription. Coverage depends on the mobile network, so tracking can be delayed in areas with weak signal, such as basements, remote roads or during network outages; the device stores its position and sends it once signal returns where the model allows. Please don't remove or swap the SIM, as it is set up specifically for your device.
7. Warranty and device faults
Our devices come with a warranty against manufacturing faults for 12 months from installation, unless a different period is stated on your receipt. If your device stops working, contact us and we will check it remotely first and, if needed, arrange an inspection, repair or replacement at no charge for covered faults. The warranty does not cover damage from accidents, water or fire, tampering, removal or reinstallation by someone other than us, or electrical faults in the vehicle. Repairs outside warranty will be quoted to you before we do any work.
8. Your responsibilities and lawful use
- Only track vehicles you own or are legally authorised to track, such as company vehicles you manage.
- Where drivers or staff use a tracked vehicle, let them know it is tracked, as good practice and in line with Nigerian law.
- Do not use our products to follow, monitor or harass anyone without their knowledge or lawful reason.
- Give us accurate contact and vehicle details, and tell us if you sell the vehicle or it changes hands.
- Use the platform fairly: don't try to break, copy or resell it without our written agreement.
We may suspend service if a device is being used unlawfully.
9. Privacy and your data
We collect only the information we need to provide the service, such as your name, phone number, email, vehicle details and the location data from your devices. We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). Your vehicle location data belongs to you as the account holder. We use it to run the service and support you, and we do not sell it. We will only share it where you ask us to, where it is needed to deliver the service, or where the law requires us to, for example in response to a valid request from law enforcement. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data. See our Privacy policy for more.
10. Accuracy and what tracking can and can't do
GPS tracking is very helpful, but like any technology it has limits. Positions are usually accurate to a few metres, and can vary near tall buildings, under cover or where the mobile network is weak. Alerts and updates may sometimes be delayed. A tracker greatly improves your chances of finding a vehicle and helps you manage it, but we cannot guarantee that a stolen vehicle will be recovered. Recovery also depends on the police and other parties outside our control.
Lost or stolen vehicles. Tracking is a helpful aid, not insurance or a recovery guarantee. GPSFleetmatic bears no responsibility for any lost or stolen vehicle, or for its contents. We will always do our best to help you locate it and share location data with you and the police, and we recommend keeping your vehicle properly insured. Fuel readings are estimates based on sensor data and can be affected by tank shape, vehicle movement and calibration.
11. Limitation of liability
We will always provide our services with reasonable care and skill. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as loss of business, profit or the vehicle itself or its contents, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as network outages, power failures, theft or natural events. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected product or service in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under Nigerian consumer protection law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Cancellations and refunds
- You can cancel an order free of charge any time before installation, and we will refund what you have paid.
- Once a device is installed, the hardware and installation are not refundable, but faulty devices are covered by our warranty.
- You can choose not to renew your subscription at any time. Renewal fees already paid are not usually refundable, but talk to us and we will always try to be fair.
- Approved refunds are paid back to the original payment method or bank account, normally within 14 working days.
13. Account security
We will give you login details for the tracking platform. Please keep your password private, change it when you first log in, and let us know straight away if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for activity on your account, including any extra users you add. We will never ask for your password by phone, WhatsApp or email.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If we ever disagree, we will first try to resolve things in a friendly way by talking. If that does not work, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria will have jurisdiction.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add new services or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. For significant changes affecting existing customers, we will let you know in advance.
